Matthew started shooting in 4-H when he was nine years old. He made the National Development Team in 2000 by winning the Junior Olympic Rifle Championships in Air. In 2001, he made the National Team in Air at the National Championships. Matthew joined the University of Alaska at Fairbanks’ shooting team in 2003. He graduated in 2007 with a degree in Technology and Aviation and a minor in Business. |

Matthew is currently living at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs as a resident athlete. In his free time, he likes hanging out with his friends, cross country skiing and he ran his first marathon in September of 2005. |
