Eric Uptagrafft began his decorated shooting career when he was just eleven years old. He joined the Foresteen Jr. Rifle Club in Spokane, Wash., where his coach, Bill Havercroft, put him on the right path. In 1993, Eric made the National Development Team and just two years later, he made the National Team. In 1995, the same year he made the National Team, Eric graduated from West Virginia University, Suma Cum Laud, with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering.

 

Eric has been a member of the National Team for over 20 years. Eric is married to National Pistol Team Member and 2008 Olympic hopeful Sandra Uptagrafft. Sandra is one of the U.S.’s top female pistol shooters. As part of the Navy Reserves, Eric was deployed to Kuwait in January of 2007. In late May, Coach David Johnson had Eric shoot the Munich World Cup while on break from deployment, where he shot a 599/600 in Men’s Prone. Eric returned from Kuwait in late October of 2007.
