Karie Wright graduated from Baylor University in 1992 with a BBA in Accounting. She started working as an accountant at the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation, which contracted her services to non-profit organizations, including USA Shooting. When the company closed their accounting service, USA Shooting hired her full time.

Karie actually began shooting when she was a teenager, as her father sparked her interest in the sport after buying a new gun for himself.
