Watch the National Junior Olympic Progressive Position Air Pistol Championships Online CAMP PERRY, Ohio (July 9, 2009) ![]() Press release courtesy of the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), www.odcmp.com Competition at the National Junior Olympic Progressive Position Air Pistol Championships, hosted by the CMP, will be held July 11-12 at the Camp Perry (Ohio) Marksmanship Training Center. Two relays of PPP competition will take place both mornings. The final round for the top eight individual competitors will be held on the afternoon of the 12th. In PPP, athletes shoot from one of five age-appropriate positions. Separate medals are awarded in each position. The top male and female competitor in the one-handed position will be awarded spots on the USA Shooting National Junior Team. To make it to this Championship, juniors had to qualify in State Junior Olympic competitions where the top teams and individuals advance to the Junior Olympic Nationals. The national event is taking place on the CMP's new electronic-target equipped air gun range at Camp Perry. One hundred and ten shooters representing 34 teams will be at Camp Perry for the two days of competition. What is especially exciting about this national junior championship is that no matter where you are, you can watch the shots and scores of any individual shooter you choose to follow live on the Internet while they are shooting.
