2010 State Junior Olympic Rifle/Pistol Host Applications Due by October 2

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (September 25, 2009)

USA Shooting is now accepting 2010 State Junior Olympic host applications. All applications must be received no later than Friday, October 2. We ask that any club interested in hosting a state Junior Olympic event complete the paperwork linked below. State hosts will be chosen based on geography, prior USAS involvement, club facilities and each club’s mission for grassroots development of the sport. Please note that each event will be granted to only one club from each state. For example, only one club from each state will host an air rifle event.

All State Junior Olympic matches are to be held between October 31, 2009 and January 31, 2010. All clubs will be notified by mail by October 12th, as to whether or not their application was accepted.

There will be no Free Pistol events held this year. Men will shoot Sport Pistol as an alternative. USA Shooting made this decision in an attempt to better promote the shootings sports by encouraging and developing junior athletes’ skill levels.
