World Shooting Championships: Meet Emily Caruso COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. (July 26, 2010) ![]() Meet Emily Caruso, a 2004 and 2008 Olympian competing in the Women's 10m Air Rifle event at the World Shooting Championships. A native of Fairfield, Conn., Emily is a Resident Athlete at the Olympic Training Complex in Colorado Springs. Emily placed fifth at this year's World Cup Beijing. She was also third in last year's USAS National Championships. Prior, Emily was the reigning Women's Air Rifle National Champion of 2002, 2005, 2006, and 2007. She finished ninth in the 2004 Olympic Games. Emily first began shooting at the age of 11 as part of the Police Athletic League (PAL). She is a graduate from Norwich University in Vermont where she earned her degree in psychology. As a full-time athlete, Emily spends hours training and working on her mental approach.
